Home Sweet Home- Braves cage Tigers 29-12

Rolling up over 340 yards on the ground, the Star Valley Braves defeated the Lander Tigers in a Homecoming romp, extending Lander’s losing streak to 14 games.

Things got out of hand early for the visitors as Zack Walker fell on a fumble on their second play from scrimmage. Logan Fitzgerald capitalized six plays later to give the Braves the early lead. Walker also collected a safety to put Star Vally up 9-0 in the early going, which set the tone for a strong Braves defensive output. Two defensive linemen, Lynk Nield and Zach Booth both collected interceptions as well.

Jordan Abrams rolled up over 170 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while Kevin Brough also hit the century mark with 122 yards of his own. Brough scored his first touchdown of the season in the second half. The passing game was sharp and efficient as Abrams connected on seven of eight pass attempts for 71 yards, four of which went to Fitztgerald who compiled 47 yards. Abrams also connected on two field goals throughout the course of the game.

Highlights for the Tigers included a tipped pass that was collected by tight end Matt Sabade who raced for 80 yards and a touchdown. Sabade finished the game with 108 yards through the air. Nick Knell also impressed the large Star Valley crowd as he connected on a 50-yard field goal.
