Veteran pilot died instantly.
The Star Valley community was shocked and saddened at the news of Brad Morehouse’s death. Morehouse died last Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007 in a jet crash near Reno.
Morehouse was participating in the Reno National Championship Air Races at the time of his death. He was flying an L-39 Albatros aircraft, named “Dino Juice.” An L-39 Albatros is a high-performance training jet that was developed in Czechoslovakia.
According to reports, Morehouse was killed instantly when his jet smashed into the ground and burst into flames. Morehouse’s accident resulted in the 17th death in the 44-year history of the Reno air races.
Federal aviation authorities are investigating the crash. It is believed that “wake turbulence” is to blame for the accident.
This is the second year that Morehouse participated in the air races.
Funeral services for Bradley Daniel Morehouse, Sr., will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 in the Afton LDS Tabernacle at 1 p.m.
Visitations have been scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the Schwab Mortuary and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the church.

It is a sad day for Star Valley with the passing of Brad Morehouse. He was a very generous man and had great visions of improving life in the valley for everyone. As the aviation community would say “Blue Skies To Brad Morehouse”.
My son’s and I attended the Reno Air Races this year for the first time. It saddened us to have witnessed the tragedy that took Brad’s life. I told my young sons that although his passing was a tragedy and he will be missed by both family and friends, that they should take courage in knowing that Brad was they type of person that lived life to its fullest. We don’t have to live forever we just have to live and Brad took every opportunity to do so. I pray for his family’s best in their time of mourning.
