They taketh away: Broncs pilfer the pigskin to defeat Braves 25-7

For one half, it was old-fashioned Star Valley and Jackson football. Strong running games and stingy defenses were the order of the day. It all fell apart in the second half for the Braves beginning with the kickoff to the third quarter
Jackson pounced on the football after the ball came loose, setting up a short field where the Broncs scored on an electrifying 14-yard scamper from Alex Bush. The visiting team then caught the Braves off guard on a two-point conversion to lead 15-7.
It was a harbinger of things to come.
Three more interceptions came to bring Star Valley’s turnover total to five, a total that was just too much to overcome against a crisp Jackson squad bent on defeating their rivals.
While their statistics were not as gaudy as they were a week ago against Teton, Idaho, Jackson hit for big plays when they needed them and shut down Star Valley’s passing attack which finished for just 22 yards.
Quarterback Jordan Abrams led the Braves in rushing, with 53 yards on 12 carries, while fellow senior Conner Hunsaker finished the game with 47 yards on 13 carries. Logan Fitzgerald notched his third touchdown on the season for Star Valley’s only score.
The road doesn’t get any easier for the Braves as they travel to Cody to play the Broncs, followed by another road trip to Marsh Valley. The victory for Jackson marks a series split with Star Valley over the last four meetings.
