Week 2 Wyoming 4A Football Predictions
By Dahl E. Llama on Sep 6, 2007 in Sports
Some huge conference games are on tap in Class 4A this weekend as teams look to get the early wins to boost them through the season. Buffalo @ Wheatland, Cody @ Lander and of course Jackson @ Star Valley, it’s time to embrace the Fall.
Well starting the season 7-2 in my selections, I’m understandably pleased. It could have even been better as both misses were whisker close.
Some huge conference games already this season and none of them are bigger than the 2007 version of the Fall Brawl between the Jackson Broncs and the Star Valley Braves. In all honesty, this is a much bigger game for the Braves than the Broncs. Sure Jackson would love to send the Crimson and Gold to 0-3, but with the next two games on the road against quality teams, Star Valley needs to build their confidence up with their performance this Friday.
Rivalry repercussions from the Dahl E. Llama: Last week: 7-2 / YTD: 7-2 (.780)
Buffalo (1-0) @ Wheatland (1-0) - The Bison looked good last week against Lander, but the Bulldogs’ defense should be a much stiffer test as they look to unseat Buffalo early in the season. I’m still going to pick the road team, but it should be much too close for comfort for Buffalo. Llama says - Bison - 17-7
Glenrock (1-0) @ Douglas (1-0) - Douglas didn’t seem to slow down a bit from last season and piled up 28 points against an outmatched and awful Riverton team. I’m taking the Bearcats in a close shootout. Llama says - Bearcats - 27-21
Rawlins (0-1) @ Mountain View (0-1) - With all due respect, one team has to score to win the game and I’m not sure if that’s going to happen in this game. The Buffs graduated a very talented team from a year ago which may be contributing to their struggles early. Rawlins’ defense is used to not getting any help, and I say they win this one by themselves with a defensive score which will then result in a missed PAT. Llama says - Outlaws - 6-0
Torrington (0-1) @ Gering, NE - As much as I’d like to see the Wyoming team win the road game, there’s no reason for me to believe that the ‘Blazers are going to break their 10-game losing streak Friday. Llama says - Gering - 20-0
Cody (0-1) @ Lander (0-1) - If Lander wants to end their own personal skid, they need to do it right here. The problems are many for the Tigers, who don’t seem to be able to score. Cody will be hungry after a tough loss on their home turf last week, and this one might get out of hand if Lander can’t find the Eye of the Tiger. Llama says - Broncs - 31-6
Powell (1-0) @ Riverton (0-1) - Powell rolled up about 500 yards on Lovell last week and while they may not get quite that high this week, this game likely won’t be close. Look for the Panther passing game to get a workout against a week Wolverine secondary. Llama says - Panthers - 45-3
Lyman (1-0) @ Worland (1-0) - When I first looked at this game, my first thought was that the Eagles would win, and maybe they will. I think this match-up will go down to the wire with the home team pulling it out in the fourth quarter. Llama says - Warriors - 27-21.
There you go, just a reminder that the Llama is refraining from selecting the Star Valley games for both personal and non-harrassment reasons. If you have your opinions on the weekend’s games, be sure to leave a comment. And remember, keep it clean.
