Lady Braves knock off Tigers and Wolves to earn 4A state birth

It’s been a season of trying to peak at the right time. In Casper on Friday, the Lady Braves broke through the proverbial wall.

“It’s been a long day of matches, but we’re obviously excited,” stated Head Coach Brandy Taylor. “Now we’re going to get ready for Kelly Walsh tomorrow morning.”

Things were a little bleak early on for the Lady Braves, who dropped their first match to Evanston in four games, 27-25, 22-25,17-25 and 21-25. The spikers rebounded to defeat the Rock Springs Lady Tigers in a grudge match, likewise in four games, 21-25, 25-21, 27-25 and 25-17. This loss ended the Tigers’ season.

In a do or die match with Green River, the Lady Braves knocked off the Lady Wolves in yet another four game contest, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-14.

After playing very sporadic matches with both Sweetwater teams, the gals in gold came through in the clutch sending both teams home for the year.
