Star Valley Middle School forging through with X-C program

With the leaps and bounds that have been enjoyed in the time since SVHS made the decision to implement a Cross-Country program, it appears that even better times are ahead with the growing interest at the Middle School level.

Seventh and eighth grade runners have participated in several events throughout the year, including last week’s Bear Lake Invitational.  Their results are as follows:

Birttney Nethercott - 9:10

Brooke Nethercott - 9:16

Merideth Wells - 10:48

Amy Saunders 11:52

Daniel Keeley - 9:06

Kaden Hall - 9:11

“I really appreciate the effort of our middle school runners this year,” stated SVHS Head Coach Ty Draney.  “Because of some coaching changes, we weren’t always able to give them the attention they needed and deserved.  Coach [Corena] Ricks basically took on the program this year and those who stuck with it continued to improve.  We are currently working closely with the administration on ways to increase participation.  It is a difficult sport, but no one gets cut, or rides the bench.  A person gets out of running whatever they put into it.”
