Successful Wolf Plan: Braves pin Green River, 47-10

There were some mighty close matches but at the end of the evening, Star Valley collected four pins en route to a 47-10 duel win over visiting Green River.
“We won our matches but we were a bit flat,” stated Head Coach Eddie Clark. “We’ll have to regroup and get ready for this weekend [against Natrona] so maybe we were looking ahead a little bit.”
While a 37- point conference duel win may seem like a very decisive night, the Wolves were very close in several matches that went Star Valley’s way in the end including two extra-period victories and a pair of one-point decisions.
Whitey Gardner, Bryan Luthi, Nick Edwards and Lynk Nield all won by Fall, while Zack Walker won by Technical Fall. Nield barely broke a sweat, winning his match in an impressive 29 seconds.
Up next for the Braves is a weekend in Casper to face Natrona and Kelly Walsh as the 4A West duels continue. For Clark and the Braves, it’s a weekend to perhaps make a statement against the second-ranked Mustangs.
