WYDOT Will Install Underpasses in Lincoln County

The Wyoming Department of Transportation will install underpasses on U.S. Highway 30 in South Lincoln County as part of a project to protect wildlife. An average of 130 mule deer are killed each winter in the Nugget Canyon area of Lincoln County as they cross the highway on a southwest Wyoming migratory route. Every year an estimated 14,000 deer cross the highway each fall and spring in Nugget Canyon. Hout Fencing of Wyoming in Worland was awarded a $4 million contract by WYDOT to install deer fences and deer underpasses on U.S. 30 in Lincoln County.
