Braves Field: Final Update

In a sport that always makes connections to how the ball bounces, it’s oddly fitting that rubber is the final element being utilized as Braves Field gets ready to make it’s debut Saturday against Riverton.

“Infill”, or tiny, uniform rubber pieces are currently being forced into the fibers of the turf. The Braves logo complete with dreamcatcher is now installed, along with twin “SV”’s at the 25-yard lines.

It’s a project that still has a lot of things to finish as August comes to a close, but things that will take place in addition to the games themselves which are slated to be played. The red track surface, landscaping, fencing and of course the little touches that will continue to be completed, will actually extend on into September.

Click below for the final field update and take a look at the new center logo in it’s natural place. The Braves will host the Riverton Wolverines on Saturday with junior varsity action slated to take place at 11 a.m. Varsity action will take place at 2 p.m. The Independent encourages the entire community to come out and witness the new facilities and the beginning of the 2008 season. Don’t forget your cowbells!

Let’s hope the Braves look a better than Josh does on that new field.

Josh sounded like he was tired after that 2.5 yard dash. Your right ryan, I think he could use a new haircut.

Don’t mess with Coach Josh!
