History Trek: SV Historical Society to explore Caribou forest Sep. 6

The Star Valley Historical Society will sponsor a 50 mile, motorized trek in the Caribou National Forest. The forest is located just west of Star Valley.
The trek has been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6. The group will assemble in the north parking lot of the civic center in Afton. Departure will take place at 9 a.m.

“Participants are encouraged to use pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles or other four wheel drive cars,” said Jermy Wight of the historical society. “The family sedan is not recommended.”

The motorized trek is anticipated to take four to five hours to complete. Bring your own lunch. The Historical Society will furnish the drinks and chips.

“The previously scheduled trek through Sheep Creek in the Bridger National Forest has been canceled for this year as the bridge over Sheep Creek is out,” said Wight.

For more information about the upcoming trek, contact Jermy Wight at 883-2174.
