Second to Last field update of the summer! - Hashmarks being installed

Just a month ago, the area where the Braves were to play football this fall looked like a desolate construction zone.  Now with crews putting the finishing touches on the newly installed turf, Braves Field is now starting to live up to it’s name.

Yard line markers, large “SV” logos and of course the Indian head and dream catcher will all be parts of the field that will go in this week.  While discussion is currently underway as to how is the best way to lay down the track surfacing in between several home contests, most Star Valley football fans are only interested in one day: August 30.  It’s on that Saturday the Braves will kick off the 2008 football season, and the 80th year of Star Valley football.

The Riverton Wolverines will be in town for the first time since 2003, and they too will have a new head coach at the helm of their program.  It’s a weekend destined to be remembered for the many firsts mixed with the tradition of two historically rich programs.

Be sure to click below for a look at the new field as just 12 days separate fans from the beginning of the Wyoming high school football season.

Good Luck this season to the Star Valley Braves. You all are getting one great coach. I look forward to adopting the Braves this season and in the future. Coach Howell will have your football program in great shape in the not so distant future. Go Braves!
