Although the match up between the Braves and Wolverines won’t factor into this year’s power ratings, it was a hard hitting battle between two coaches in their their respective first years at their new locations.  In their first ever meeting, it was Riverton who captured the win.

Much like previous games between the two teams, it was a defensive struggle with a 0-0 score at the break.

In the third period, Kevin Brough broke in the new surface at Braves Field with an 83-yard touchdown scamper to put Star Valley up 7-0.  However, just five game minutes later, a botched punt was blocked and hurried into the end zone by the Wolverines to tie the game up.

Numerous penalties and turnovers took place as both teams had great effort, but spotty execution.  In the end, the teams went to overtime where Star Valley had to settle for a field goal after three runs from the ten yard line netted them nothing.

The defense was solid all day, and it took the overtime rules of putting Riverton on the Star Valley 10 to get them in the end zone.  A third down touchdown pass and a terrific catch saw the visitors spoil the first ever game at the new facilities as the Wolverines won, 13-10.
