A 3.7 magnitude earthquake hit approximately seven miles east of Alpine Thursday evening.

Residents of Alpine reported that they felt the quake, but no damage was reported.

Geophysicists from around the region stated that the quake was not related to a series of tremors reported at Yellowstone Park on December 26, 2008.
