25-years ago:
School board adopts new policies. The policy on admission of students from non-accredited schools was passed as well as a new closed campus policy for the new junior high school.
Etna news: Sixteen cub scouts participate in pinewood derby. The winners were Den 1, Aaron Roberts, first; Markell Bateman, second; Klint Jackson, third; Den 2, Brian Roberts, first, Matt Wolfely, second, and Ian Wolfely, thrid; Webelos, Shad Roberts, first, Corbin Bageman second, Cody Clark, third. Brian Roberts was named Grand Champion.
50-years ago:
Winners of Grosjean Studio–Star Valley Drug Baby Photo Contest: 6 mo. to 1 year, Ramona Allred; 1 to 2 years, Randy Veigel; 2-3 years, Jeffrey Wright.

Thayne news: Mr. and Mrs. Milford Heap took their son John back to Logan Sunday and visited with Milford’s mother, Mrs. May Heap.
75-years ago:

Harmonica Contest: Sunday, April 15, the Osmond Harmonica Band members are giving a public performance in the Osmond chapel. The nature of the performance will be contest work in both solos and duets. The winners to be present with new harmonicas.
Postmaster W. Leroy Call and R. B. Call in company with 11 business men of Cokeville and 23 prominent men of Kemmerer enjoyed a ride last Friday on the new speedy Union Pacific train from Montpelier to Kemmerer. These men were all invited guest of the Railroad Co. While en rout an official of the company explained all the details of this new train. The train is powered by a 600 horse power diesel engine which turns an eclectic generator. . . . The train embodies the latest development in modern travel comfort, and has a maximum speed of 110 miles per hour; the fastest on this trip was 90 miles per hour. . . . Several more trains are being built and will be in service by fall. They will make a coast to coast trip in about 36 hour.
100-years ago:
Etna: The snow is getting shallow. It is only 6 inches deep on some of the slopes and on the most of our lands is not over 12 inches deep.
Auburn: There will be a basketball game here tonight, Friday, between Auburn and Grover. Friday is the last day of school, and the children are having a celebration in honor of the event.
