On Sunday, May 17 the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a body in Alpine. Deputies responded to the scene and located the body of David Reneker, a 41 year old man from the Alpine area.
According to the Sheriff’s report, an “investigation revealed that Reneker died of multiple knife wounds.”

The report stated that several search warrants have been issued and served by the Lincoln County’s Sheriff’s office relating to the case.

According to information provided by Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson, the department “continues to follow up on leads and has identified a person of interest in the case.”
