Well, I won’t lie.  I’m really anxious for the high school, collegiate and professional football seasons to start, but with the NBA Draft coming up on June 25, my attention is at least diverted to that occasion where terms such as “upside”, “length” and even the completely ambiguous, “upside potential” are used far too frequently.

Lower Valley Energy has asked the state for a natural gas rate decrease and that request was granted. The member-owned cooperative, serving Star Valley and Jackson, filed the request with the Wyoming Public Service Commission.

Officials are searching for the body of a Utah man who apparently committed suicide by jumping off the edge of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone Tuesday afternoon.

Eight candidates have filed for District Three in the Lower Valley Energy Member-Owned Cooperative Service area. This district includes the Lower Star Valley area and south of Jackson, but all Lower Valley Co-op members may vote.

The Wyoming Department of Health reports that the number of laboratory-confirmed cases of swine flu, the H1N1 virus has risen to 47 in the state.

In a decade of existence, the Star Valley Medical Center Golf Classic has grown to 25 groups this year.
