Geneva Bragg Burton Avrett was born Dec. 28, 1919 in Bryant, Arkansas to Lida Tull Bragg and Albert Ross Bragg. Geneva went to be with our Lord on July 10, 2009. After living in Arkansas and Texas most of her life, she first moved to Alpine in 1988 and later to Afton, where she lived for many years. For the last six years she lived in the Star Valley Care Center in Afton. She had been widowed and was preceded in death by husbands Milton Burton and Al Avrett. She is survived by two children, Mike Burton of Bedford; and Carolyn Burton Townsend of Salado, Texas; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren, of Texas and Oklahoma Geneva took great pride in being a good wife and mother. Her skills as a fine seamstress were unsurpassed. She could look at a dress in a store window and recreate it at home without a pattern. She was the seamstress for a dance studio and made costumes for the dancers for several years. Geneva had the wonderful gift of being able to make something lovely out of practically nothing. She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church in Texas where for many years she sang in choirs and with her musical family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, but we are happy that her struggle is over. She has been reunited with our Lord and her loving family that have gone before her.
