CHEYENNE, Wyo. – On hearing the news today that Wyoming will get $6.4 million in federal economic stimulus funding for projects aimed at restoring forest health and reducing fuels for wildland fires, Gov. Dave Freudenthal issued the following statement:
“There can never be enough Forest Service funding to address the beetle kill and forest fire issues we are seeing in the Thorofare, but we certainly appreciate this $6.4 million.”
The Governor and First Lady are currently on a horse packing trip in the Thorofare region of northwest Wyoming with Wyoming Game and Fish Department officials.
