Fire burning on the Bridger-Teton

Firefighters on the Bridger-Teton National Forest discovered the Ditch Fire on Saturday August 29.

The Ditch fire is a lighting caused fire burning approximately 11-miles north east of the town of Kelly, Wyoming on the Jackson Ranger District.

The fire is being managed for the benefit of the resources and the ecosystem.  Allowing naturally ignited fires to burn on the Forest is a way for land managers to reintroduce fire to the landscape and improve forest conditions for wildlife as well as reducing fuels build up on the landscape.

The fire is approximately a third of an acre in size and burning is a mixture of spruce and fir trees. There are no road or trail closures associated with this fire.
