Lester WeberLester LaVerne Weber, age 77, a longtime resident of Jackson, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at the St. John’s Hospital in Jackson.    Les was born Nov. 8, 1931 in Bladen, Neb., to Andrew and Rose Meester Weber. As a young adult he traveled and worked in several different trades. During this time he met Shirley Mae (Einsphar) and they married.    In 1957 Les got a job offer to help build a new elementary school in Jackson Hole. He and Shirley had three children at the time and decided to pack up and move to the mountains. They lived there during the summer and traveled to Arizona for the winters.    He had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed rock hunting, reading, cooking, gardening and building.  Later in life, he always enjoyed and looked forward to the yearly family camping trips.  He was always so intrigued with any and every part of construction. Not only construction, but his ‘roots’ of Nebraska farming always brought a big smile to his face.  When passing a field of crops.    He is survived by his wife, Doneta of Thayne; brother Donald (Leota) Weber of Harvard, Neb.; son Robert (Ginny) Weber of Hamilton, Mont.; daughter Sharon (Glen) Steers of Lander; son Ronald (Kaylea) Weber; son Dan (Terri) Weber; and son Andy (Cari) Weber all of Jackson; stepdaughter Kim Poletti of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson Cory (Alison) Shinkle of Peoria, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.    He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, one sister and one grandson.    Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 in the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson.  Burial will be in the Southpark Cemetery south of Jackson.
