Lincoln County among those seeking stimulus funds

The Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors will review 53 energy efficiency grant applications for federal stimulus funding, 56 grant applications for community assistance funding and a $20 million contract pertaining to the National Center for Atmospheric Research supercomputing center during a two-day board meeting in Cheyenne.
Among the applications: High Country behavioral Health in Afton requesting $46,241, the Town of Thayne requesting $23,000 and Lincoln County, $357,435.
The board meeting will be held Dec. 2-3 at the Laramie County Community College’s (LCCC) Training Center in Cheyenne.
In related news, the town of Thayne will be receiving a water study grant from the state of Wyoming. The Wyoming Water Development Commission has agreed to award Thayne with an $85,000 grant to assist with preparations for additional water storage. The grant was awarded as Thayne is working with the Wyoming Water Development Commission on a Level II Water Study.
