Bison hunt priority deadline approaching
By News Release on Jan 26, 2010 in Outdoors
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department reminds hunters that March 1, is the deadline to submit applications to be placed on the wild bison priority listing for 2010. The priority listing is not a drawing to issue licenses.
It is a random computer selection that is held in May to place hunters on a priority list.
Applicants are notified based on their ranking on the priority list, in order of their priority ranking, when the department determines a wild bison hunting opportunity may be available.
At that time the hunter has the opportunity to purchase or decline purchase of the wild bison license. The harvest of a wild bison is allowed once in a lifetime in Wyoming.
Applications to be placed on the priority listing are in the resident and nonresident application booklets and and on the Game and Fish Web site http://gf.state.wy.us. Information on the bison hunt can be obtained by calling (307) 777-4600.
