The Star Valley Historical Society has placed a new a commemorative stone on the face of the Historic Rock Church in Auburn. The limestone slab, which reads “Auburn Ward 1889,” is an exact replica of the building’s original signage. Margaret Tueller, representing the Star Valley Historical Society, said the old sign was replaced because of weather damage. She explained the sign is based on the same design as the first stone that was used in the late 1800s. Old photographs were used to help with the design.
