The following are obituaries and death notices that appeared in the August 12, 2010 edition of the Star Valley Independent.
Clint E Robertson was born on Jan. 17, 1981 to Lee and Sheila Robertson. He was a kid that kept things interesting — causing fights between his siblings, or finding anything to get into mischief. Growing up he became an avid outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, racing dirt bikes, shooting anything that was fair game. He continued his love for the outdoors all through his life. One of his many passions was the demolition derby. He finished his car just in time for the 2010 Derby at the Lincoln County Fair. He might not have won but he sure hit the hardest and put on a good show which was all he wanted. Clint and Chelsie started dating in February 2002 and got married in May 2007. They welcomed Graycee Rose into their family in October of 2009. Clint was a proud father and worried about the boys that would surround his gorgeous daughter one day. He was so excited for the day that he would get to teach his little girl how to fish and clean a gun. Clint passed away on Aug. 1, 2010. Clint is survived by his wife, Chelsie (Baker) Robertson; daughter Graycee Robertson; his parents, Lee and Sheila Robertson; his siblings Karie (Jeff); Clif (Charlee); Vic (Andi); several nieces and nephews, grandparents and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew him. As Clint would say about his time here: “What a ride!”
Carrie Lynne Whitley Helm was called home to her Father in Heaven on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010. She was born on July 31, 1958 to George and Nancy Whitley, in Biloxi, Miss. Carrie married her sweetheart Dave Helm, on Feb. 12, 1981 in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children. She worked as a Critical Care Nurse for over 30 years, for IHC. Carrie was a devoted LDS church member, in which she served in many callings including 17 years in Cub Scouts. She is survived by her father and mother George H. Whitley and Nancy K. Whitley of Riverdale, Utah; her husband, Dave T. Helm; brother Lowell (Jill); four children; Shawn (Melissa); Kirsten, Bryan, and Kalecia, and two grandchildren, Alaina and Kaiden. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 in the North Logan Green Canyon 13th Ward Chapel. Interment took place in the North Logan Memorial Park and Cemetery.
Jennie Lee Corsi Thompson, age 76, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 15, 2010. Jennie was born to Arcangelo and Edith Corsi in Afton the ninth of their ten children. She was raised on a ranch in Etna until she was a teenager at which time they moved to Afton. Jennie graduated from the Star Valley Seminary and Star Valley High School in 1953. Jennie married and moved to Phoenix in 1956 where she lived the rest of her life. However, she always considered Afton “up home” and loved her memories of her childhood there and spoke of them often. Fortunately, she always had family in Afton and came to visit as often as she could over her life. She had a subscription to the Star Valley Independent from the day she left until the day she passed away to keep up with the town and people she loved so much. Jennie is survived by her children, LeAnn (Victor) Brum; Christine (Thomas) Dillmore; and Richard (Dawn) Thompson all of Phoenix; three sisters, Nettie Davenport of Phoenix; Mary Gardner of Afton; Pauline Ashley of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; Lori Moreno a niece and Alvin Corsi a nephew, both who were more like her children than her niece and nephew, and many other nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Jennie was laid to rest in Glendale, Ariz., on July 19, 2010, with a beautiful ceremony and remembrance of her life and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
