The Town of Thayne passed a resolution a their December council meeting regarding additional grant funds for the Thayne Community Center Project. The action was taken in the regular December meeting of the Thayne Town Council. Resolution 2010-03 authorizes the Town of Thayne to apply for a Community Development Block Grant from the state in the amount of $155,500. If awarded, the grant funds would be used to help bring the Thayne Community Center into ADA compliance. According to Town Clerk Joan Jensen, funds will be used to renovate the existing bathroom as well as add three additional bathrooms to the facility. Drinking fountains will be upgraded to make sure they are ADA compliant. A new entryway into the building would also be covered by the grant funds. The Town of Thayne will be notified by the state in February 2011 as to whether the grant funds will be awarded.
