The Mountain West Conference released its 2011 preseason football poll on Tuesday, and the Wyoming Cowboys were selected sixth in the eight-team Mountain West. Boise State was picked as the preseason favorite, receiving 28 of 31 first-place votes from conference media members. Defending Champion TCU was picked second, receiving the other three first-place votes.

Monday, July 18 the United States Geological Survey recorded a magnitude 3.1 earthquake in Western Wyoming. The epicenter of the quake was 18 miles East of Jackson.

Augustus wins inaugural Star Valley Half-Marathon »

Gray Augustus of Idaho Falls, Idaho set a blistering pace en route to winning the First Annual Star Valley Half-Marathon on Saturday morning.  More than 300 runners from seven states registered to participate in the event, with more than half of them being Star Valley residents.
