The arrival of 2012 will mean a new council meeting schedule for the Town of Thayne. In December the council voted to change the regular council meeting date to the third Thursday of each month. Meetings will continue to start at 5:30 p.m.  Prior to 2012, council meetings in Thayne took place on the second Wednesday of every month.  According to information provided by the Town of Thayne, the decision to change the regular meeting date for the town council was made to accommodate conflicting schedules.  “We are trying to accommodate council members and not have too many conflicts with other events,” said Mayor Bob King. “There is a lot going on in Star Valley and this new meeting schedule seemed to conflict the least with what was already happening. It is good to be accommodating where we can.”  According to King, the council will continue to have workshop sessions on a regular basis, in addition to the regular council meetings.
“We have not talked about the workshop schedule at this point, but we will do that at our January Council Meeting,” said King.  The January meeting of the Thayne Town Council will take place on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012.
