Fundraising efforts are underway in Thayne with plans to purchase a new ambulance in the summer of 2012.
Thayne EMS spokesperson Sherri Merritt reports the ambulance will replace an older model, now in service. Thayne EMS sent out a donation letter to area residents in June.
The Thayne Ambulance Service responds to an average of 130 calls each year.
