The Star Valley High School Marching Braves performed at the annual Wyoming State Marching Band competition, bringing home an “Excellent” rating from the panel of judges. In all, 17 schools participated in the event and just six of those earned the coveted “Superior” rating and five of those were 4A. Only the Buffalo High School program earned the rating from a 3A school. The Star Valley ensemble performed music from and inspired by the MMO (Massive Multi-player Online) game, World of Warcraft.
According to director, Kurt Sand, the band peaked at the right time. “The group did really, really well,” he said. “They performed so strong. I was very proud of them. I got the chance to watch the show from further up in the stands and our spacing and our lines and our sounds were very solid. They performed their strongest show at state and that’s always the goal.”
