The Snake River Fund (SRF) announced this week that it would be donating $3,000 worth of specialized water rescue equipment to Star Valley Search & Rescue (SVSAR) for 2012.
New items include: dry suits, rescue ropes, tethers, knives and pumps. Also, this year Dave Hansen Whitewater and Jackson Hole Whitewater volunteered to repair and refurbish SVSAR’s inflatable rescue boats.
“Although we can’t keep all river users from getting in trouble, we can make sure that Star Valley’s volunteer rescue professionals have the right tools and training they need to save lives and stay safe.” said Executive Director Rebecca Reimers.
The Snake River Fund has provided money, tools, training and equipment to Star Valley Search & Rescue since 2000.
The Snake River Fund mission statement focuses stewardship of, and recreational access to, the Snake River watershed in Wyoming with an emphasis on partnerships, education and public outreach.
