Star Valley Medical Center’s “Movember” program comes to a close Thursday, Nov. 29, when the winners of the moustache growing contest will be chosen. At the beginning of the November SVMC announced the contest as part of a month-long program to discuss and direct attention to men’s health issues, in addition to encourage screenings for prostate cancer.
SVMC reports prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men with approximately 16 percent of men diagnosed with the cancer at some point in their lives. The medical center will host a HealthBeat report on prostate and testicular cancer as part of the Nov. 29 program in the Greys River Room. The HealthBeat report on men’s health issues will start at 12 noon, followed by the Movember program at 12:30 p.m. with mustache judging.
During “Movember,” SVMC accepted a challenge from the Bank of Star Valley for the honor of having the most employees with the best mustache in Star Valley.
Ladies are invited to be a part of the program by building a moustache on a stick. Prizes are planned for the winners of the SVMC Movember program. For additional information call SVMC at 885-5887.
