A Jackson highway project valued at $5.8 million will take place this summer on Broadway street in Jackson. The street serves US 26-89-189-191 in that community.

Evans Construction of Jackson won the bid to reconstruct a third of a mile of Broadway between the Flat Creek Bridge and Jackson Street.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation reports, the project will include new concrete pavement, sidewalks, curb and gutter, water and sewer lines, bicycle and pedestrian paths and lighting.

Work is expected to begin in late March and then shut down during the peak of the tourist season from July 1 to Aug. 20.   The contract completion date is Nov. 30.
