Marching band brings home superior rating.
The Star Valley High School Marching Braves have returned from the Wyoming State Marching Band Festival Competition held in Casper on Saturday, Oct. 13, with a rating of Superior I in 4A marching bands.

One of the most exciting weeks of the year kicks off at Star Valley High School this week. September 24-28 will be homecoming week for the Braves, Lady Braves and all of their fans and supporters.

Students get wired. District looks at electronics policy

Every year much preparation and effort goes into preparing students across the state of Wyoming to take the PAWS standardized tests. Local students travel with group to Europe.
The Western Wyoming People to People Student Ambassador group recently returned from a 20-day ambassadorial studies tour to Europe. The group, made up of 27 strdents from the Western Wyoming area, visited England, France and Italy.

Megan Thomson is the new school resource officer.
This year when the students, teachers and administrators went back to school in Lincoln County School District No. 2, they had a new ally coming to school with them. Deputy Megan Thomson, with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, is the first school resource officer in Star Valley.

Thousands of miles will be logged this year.
Getting the children of Star Valley and Cokeville to school is no small task. Every day, rain, shine or snow, students need to be taken to school and home again.

Two Star Valley students, Tiffany Nethercott and Matt Ashton, recently had the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. and represent the state of Wyoming at the Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) World Leadership Congress.

“What did you do on your summer vacation?” That is a question that will be asked often over the next few weeks as kids head back to school. Six Star Valley youth will have wonderful stories to tell about what they did on their summer vacation.
