The Town of Star Valley Ranch passed a resolution in favor of moving forward with the silo and barn project. The decision was made after a public hearing was held in which the majority of attendees expressed approval of seeking grant funds for the project.

Wednesday evening, Aug. 6, 2008, between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. the Green Canyon Water Tank in the Town of Star Valley Ranch was vandalized. According to initial reports of the incident, locks and chains at the gate were removed and the lock to the access door on top of the tank was removed.

In a unanimous vote, the Lincoln County Planning Commission has voted against recommending a grass airstrip on the Double L Ranch just north of Etna. The decision was made Wednesday, July 23 at the regular county planning and zoning meeting.

The Idaho Falls District of the Bureau of Land Management and the Caribou-Targhee National Forest released a Record of Decision regarding the expansion of the Smoky Canyon Mine, Panels F & G. Their decision authorizes the J.R. Simplot Company to extend current open pit phosphate mining operations.

Close to 25 members of the Wyoming National Guard arrived in Weston County Saturday, June 7, to build a 26-foot long temporary bridge over a washed out county road. The request came to the Wyoming National Guard Friday to send personnel to put a bridge into place.
