It’s hard to believe just how much has been crammed into this off-season in both high school and collegiate sports.Talk of classification, huge conference realignments, rivalries seeing their last days.  It’s all happening  just days before games are scheduled to be played.Here are my 3A West Conference Predictions and MWC Predictions for the opening weekend

This is what I’m calling the Missouri Week in this column.  In other words, the “Show Me” week in terms of match ups.

Yup, the Longhorns are pretty good.  But can the Buffaloes turn back Wyoming in week three?  The Llama’s game of the week in Wyoming 3A is Buffalo traveling to Powell in a game of unbeatens.

It’s hard to top BYU’s win over #3 Oklahoma.  But the MWC will have the opportunity when #2 Texas travels to Laramie.

Just a handful of years ago, the Mountain West Conference saw the number one overall draft pick come from their ranks in Andrew Bogut and perhaps the nation’s most underated player in Danny Granger.  This year?  The MWC might as well have been the MLB when it came to drafting impact basketball players.

Well, I won’t lie.  I’m really anxious for the high school, collegiate and professional football seasons to start, but with the NBA Draft coming up on June 25, my attention is at least diverted to that occasion where terms such as “upside”, “length” and even the completely ambiguous, “upside potential” are used far too frequently.
