For nearly a week, the skies were blue and temperatures were in the 30’s. Maybe that’s normal in a lot of winter locales, but not Star Valley in January.
Though residents enjoyed the unseasonably warmer temps for nearly a week, Mother Nature returned from her vacation with a vengeance.
Beginning as a light dusting on Sunday afternoon, the area was hit by more than 12 inches of snow on the valley floor. Compounding the cleanup efforts, the temperatures then spiraled downward to -15 with a -25 wind chill on Monday evening. Tuesday evening brought yet another six inches of the white stuf
While one never knows exactly what a Wyoming winter will bring, temperature and weather changes this quickly will never get a laugh out of a Cowboy State resident when they pull their winter gear out of their back seat in June.
