Lincoln County continued to lead Wyoming in unemployment statistics with the latest January report just released by the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. The Lincoln County unemployment rate in January of 2012 was 9.1 percent, followed by Johnson County with 8.0 percent and Fremont with 7.9 percent. The report noted Lincoln County had 746 people unemployed in a workforce of 8,160. Sublette County had the lowest unemployment rate for January of 2012 with 3.4 percent. Teton County was listed with a 7.1 percent unemployment rate for the same time period and Uinta had a 6.1 percent rating. In a year-to-date comparison, the Lincoln County unemployment rate for January of 2011 was 10.5 percent. Statewide the unemployment rate was 6.3 percent and the U.S. rate was 8.8 percent.
