Golf wrapped up their season while cross-country was in Idaho shaving down their times. Meanwhile back at Star Valley High School, the volleyball team was resuming conference play.
Carson Walker shot 79 on both days in Worland to card a total of 158, good enough for fifth place overall. Walker’s scores propelled the Braves to their best team finish in several years as the Braves finished fourth behind Jackson, Powell and Lander. As expected, the Broncs won the team title led by two of the top three overall scores. Mason Onkes and freshman Brady Fullmer both shot under 170 as well. On the girls side, the Lady Braves had trouble with consistency but finished eighth overall. Click for full state golf results here.
Hailey Ricks ran in the Elite division of the Bob Firman Invite in Boise, Idaho on Saturday, running a personal best of 18:40 to finish eighth among the Northwest’s best high school runners. Ricks’ time shattered the previous Lady Brave course mark by 39 seconds. The girls team ran in the Division 1 varsity category and finished eighth overall out of 32 teams without Ricks. In fact, five of the six girls ran under 22 minutes, the first time this season that five runners in addition to Ricks has finished under that mark.
For the boys, Cody Peck finished tenth overall as the Braves ran in the Division 1 varsity category and came in ninth out of 47 teams. Peck’s time of 16:47 was also a personal best as three Braves ran under 18 minutes. David Livingston and Gabe Waldron carded the other two top times.
