Driver’s services moving from Afton to Thayne

May-28-driving-tests-iStock_000009697473XSmallThe Wyoming Department of Transportation will be closing the Afton Driver’s Services location, 460 Washington, Office 3, on Dec. 12 and  reopening on Dec. 20 at the new office location at the Thayne Community Center.  According to WYDOT Public Involvement Specialist Stephanie Harsha, the location will change but services offered and operating hours will remain the same.

“The hours for driver’s services will remain the same, 9:30 a.m. to noon and then 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Fridays of each week,” she said. “The new location will offer residents a more centrally located office, with motorcycle testing on site and better parking. In addition, the site offers upgraded handicapped accessibility.”

According to Harsha, the new office will be “less costly for WYDOT and will provide better opportunities for advanced telecom and Internet options.”

“This move is a great opportunity to improve cost benefit and provide better customer service to the residents of the valley,” she said.
