The following are obituaries and death notices that appeared in the November 28, 2012 edition of the Star Valley Independent.
Murl Dahlgren passed away on Nov. 14, 2012 at Star Valley Medical Center from a brain aneurysm. She was 72 years old. She was born to Norman and Elvira DeLannoy on May, 30, 1940 in Rawlins. She married James E. Dahlgren on Jan. 21, 1962 in Rawlins. They had two children together, TyAnn and Kenneth. They moved to Afton in 1973 and she had many jobs besides being a wife and mother. She worked in several local businesses including the Powderhorn, the Lazy B and the Black Cat Restaurant. She helped found the Afton chapter of AA and earned 37 years of sobriety at the time of her passing. She enjoyed her family and friends and was happiest on a fish bank with either her kids or grandkids as well as anyone who wanted to go fishing. She had too many hobbies to list and enjoyed keeping herself and others busy but always made anything fun. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, David Lee Cully, and her grandson, Ashton James Russell Dahlgren. She is survived by her husband, James; her sister, Norma Ploog; and her twin sister, Marie Rodabaugh; a daughter, TyAnn Thomas; son, Kenneth Dahlgren; grandsons Chad Dahlgren and Jake Fisher; granddaughters, Tyelee Hunter, LeeAhna Dahlgren and Lily Fisher; and great grandson, Gage Hunter. A memorial service was held at Schwab’s Mortuary on Nov. 19, 2012, at 1 p.m.
