The Town of Alpine has been working with WYDOT on plans to install a water and sewer line beneath the Snake River Bridge. According to Mayor Kennis Lutz, the project is coming together and “getting closer” to being ready to bid.
“We have been working with the WYDOT Engineering Department on this,” he said. “There has been some concern with regards to loads and placement of the lines but we are working through that. Originally the bridge was designed to hold one water line. Now we are looking at adding a second line, a sewer line. So there are some weight and placement issues that need to be addressed with the project.”
According to Lutz, once the engineering plans are approved, final drawings for the project will be completed.
“We are hoping to go to bid with this project in late December or January,” Lutz said. “It is a good project, a worthwhile project and it has been a good partnership. It’s something that benefits the town. It benefits the people and businesses on the north side of the river. It is really a win-win.”
