For a number of years the Alpine Stage of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race has taken place mid week. But the 2014 race schedule puts the mushing teams in Alpine on a Saturday.
The 2014 race will begin Friday, Jan. 31 in Jackson.
The race will move to Alpine on Saturday, Feb. 1. Race time is 9 a.m. The starting point is located behind the Bank of Alpine.
There will be no Meet the Mushers Banquet in Alpine this year because of the adjusted race schedule.
From Alpine, the race will move to West Yellowstone on Sunday, Feb. 2.
The Lander Stage of the sled dog race is set for Tuesday, Feb. 4.
The mushers will race in Pinedale on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The Big Piney and Marbleton Stage of the race is set for Thursday, Feb. 6.
The dog sled teams will return in Lincoln County on Friday, Feb. 7 for the Kemmerer Stage of the race.
From Kemmerer, the dog sled teams will travel to Mountain View for a race day on Friday, Feb. 7.
Racing will continue in the Bridger Valley on Saturday, Feb. 8. The race will end in Evanston that day.
