Area chamber seeking nominations

2012 Chamber of Commerce Awards

The Star Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for achievement awards. The recognitions will be presented during the 2013 Chamber Awards Banquet on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.

Nominations can be submitted electronically to the Chamber of Commerce at svccom@silverstar.com or hand delivered to any member of the Star Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

In 2013, five awards will be presented. The award categories include Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Service Organization of the Year, Business Beautification of the Year and Community Volunteer of the Year.

The Citizen of the Year is an “award presented to a citizen in Star Valley who is actively involved in volunteer efforts in the community and helping to improve the quality of life in Star Valley.”

The Business of the  Year is an award presented to an area business for “providing new employment, new services, promoting community, engaging and promoting volunteer efforts and partnering with communities to improve the quality of life.”

The Service Organization of the  Year award will be presented to a Star Valley Service Organization that demonstrates “their willingness to go above and beyond the normal duties of the organization and who partners with the community to improve the quality of life in Star Valley.”

The Business Beautification of the Year is presented “to a business who has improved the aesthetics for exterior and/or interior development.”

The Community Volunteer of the Year Award “will be presented to a community volunteer who clearly shows they are willing to provide service to better the community.”
