IPSSSDR slides through Alpine on February 1

The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race will again make their way through the Town of Alpine this year on February 1.  Unlike previous years where the schedule has allowed for a Meet the Mushers banquet the evening before, this year will be a quick sprint through the town at 9 a.m.

Jackson Hole WY 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Vet Check — Open to the public; Come meet the teams!

3:00- 5:00 p.m.  Pre-Race headquarters Wort Hotel, 5:00 p.m. festivities on the Town Square — booths, giveaways,  hot cocoa.  6:00 p.m. Storm Show Productions Video on Big Screen.  6:30 p.m. Mushers leave Starting Gate with a Duel Start.  8:00 p.m. Pedigree Party at
Snow King, Fireworks and
Torchlight Parade.

Saturday, February 1st
Alpine, WY

Race starts 9:00 am Beside the Tavern on the Greys. Community offered Refreshments will be available.


Saturday, February 1st
Travel to West Yellowstone MT

7:00 p.m. – Meet the Mushers at Wild West Pizzeria on Madison Avenue — Live Music from Screen Door Porch and 2013 IPSSSDR video.

Sunday, February 2nd

West Yellowstone MT

9:00am – Watch the Race Start & Finish on Yellowstone Avenue intersection with Canyon Street. Alternate Start is the Old Airport.

Monday, February 3rd
Lander WY

5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. — 200 Block of Main Street Will be closed to traffic. Teams will have their dog trucks lined up on the 200 block of Main Street. Come Meet and greet the teams. Be sure to bring your Cameras!

6:30pm – Local sponsor Gannett Grill/Lander Brewing Company
will host the evening’s event.
Movie shown will be the 2013 IPSSSDR Slideshow. This video highlights each town along the 8-day race. Come see it — you and your family are probably in it!

Tuesday, February 4th
Lander WY

9:00 a.m.  Race start at Louis Lake parking lot up on South Pass.
This leg is approximately 42 miles.

(Directions to Louis Lake Parking Lot: Drive south of Lander on HWY 287, approximately 28 mile to post marker 28; the parking lot is on the right.

Mushers start at 9:00 a.m. sharp; 3 minute interval between takeoffs. You’re welcome to come early but please, leave your four-legged family members at home!

Bridger Valley to Evanston WY

9:00 a.m. Race Start at Deadhorse Trailhead, south of Mountain View (follow signs) finishing at North Slope Road, 30 miles south of Evanston on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, HWY 150, Uinta County, Wyoming. (The course goes into Utah.)

Saturday, February 8th
North Slope Road Trailhead,

30 miles south of Evanston.

2:00 p.m. Junior Musher Race at North Slope Road Trailhead
(finish line) ending at 3:00 p.m. approximately.

Evanston WY

6:00 p.m. Closing Banquet Hosted by IPSSSDR. Doors open 6:00 p.m. Dinner at 7:00 p.m.
