The Town of Alpine is continuing the planning process for the first annual Alpine Winter Jubilee Celebration. The event will take place Feb. 28, March 1 and March 2.
Planning meetings are held every other Monday night at 6 p.m. at the Cowboyz Bistro. According to Alpine Mayor Kennis Lutz, the three day event will include a casino night, snow cross, ice and snow sculpting, a lighted snowmobile parade, and a number of different family activities.
“The goal is to bring business into the Town of Alpine in the winter months,” said Lutz. “We want to keep Alpine on the map and get something going for our community. This is one way we can entice people to spend a day or two in Alpine. It is something that is good for area businesses and families and for the people who come from out of town to participate.”
According to Lutz, right now the search is on for volunteers to help out with the event.
“We really need some help in this,” he said. “We need people to come out and get involved.”
