Star Valley Search and Rescue was called out Sunday evening Feb. 2 to find an overdue snowmobiler from Alpine.
Search and Rescue spokesman Dusty Skinner said 12 members of the organization responded to the call.
Skinner said the individual was located in the Murphy Creek area of Greys River where he had built a warming fire after his snowmobile broke down.
According to SVSR the individual snowmobiler had met friends from Big Piney earlier in the day at Blind Bull. After snowmobiling in that area, he refueled at the Box Y Lodge on the Greys River and was returning to Alpine when the snowmobile broke down.
Based on Afton airport records average valley temperatures on Sunday evening hovered around zero.
