The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking information relating to the harvest of a cow elk in Elk Hunt Area 103, in the Salt Canyon area. The incident took place around Jan. 27 or Jan. 28 said Game Warden Todd Graham.
“The late season for antlerless elk in Elk Hunt Area 103 was open until Jan. 31 for Area 103 Type Six Elk Licenses,” Graham said. “The elk was harvested on public land in Salt Canyon on the west side of Wyoming Highway 89 in an area of high visibility to the public. The department is hoping to receive information to confirm that the elk was legally harvested so it can address numerous reports received from the public.”
Anyone with information on the elk harvested in Salt Canyon during the last week of January is asked to call Graham at 885-3717 or Neil Hymas in Cokeville at (307) 279-3466.
