Six-year-old Evie Olenslager, daughter of James and Jennie Olenslager, is facing the battle of her life. She was diagnosed with two different types of cancer.
“One is very rare, call dysgerminoma,” she said. “The other is gonadoblastoma.”
To date she has had two surgeries and is doing chemotherapy.
A benefit dinner and silent auction will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 in the Thayne Community Center. The event is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. and is $15 a person or $45 for a family.
A quilt raffle is also taking place with tickets for $5 each or five tickets for $20. Raffle tickets are available at the Bank of Star Valley, First Bank, Hansen Oil, Paperworks Plus, Kay’s Sewing Shop, Jaded Hair Salon, and at Dr. Mark Johnson’s Office. The quilt drawing will take place on Saturday.
All proceeds will go towards meeting medical expenses associated with Evie’s battle against cancer.
A 5K benefit run has also been planned for Saturday, May 17.
