Lower Valley Energy is accepting nominations by petition for Directors to represent Districts 1, 6 and 7 on the Lower Valley Board of Directors. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, April 25.
“Petitions may be picked up at the Afton or Jackson office,” said Brian Tanabe, communications and marketing director for Lower Valley Energy. “Anyone interested in running for a board position should contact Lower Valley Energy to verify the district in which he or she resides.”
District No. 1 comprises all of the upper Star Valley area with the northern boundary being Strawberry Creek Road.
District No. 6 comprises the western portion of the town of Jackson with Cache Street defining the eastern boundary. The southern boundary is Highway 22 with the Snake River being the western border. Zenith Drive serves as the northern boundary and includes Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club.
District No. 7 comprises all areas east of Fall Creek Road and west of Highway 89 to the Jackson LVE Office, then all areas north of the Jackson LVE Office up the town of Jackson, including Hidden Ranch. Then west of Highway 89 with a northern boundary of Highway 22, consisting of Skyline Ranch.
“Any ten or more members of any district may make a nomination by petition,” said Tanabe. “The names nominated will be placed on the printed ballot and voted on by proxy or at the annual meeting of the members on June 26, 2014 in Afton.”
According to Tanabe, prospective candidates must be a resident of a director district they wish toserve and be willing to attend regularly scheduled and special meetings of the board of directors.
Election will be for a three-year term.
