The Town of Afton will consider a variety of beautification projects for the downtown area during its May 13 council meeting.
“We are looking at purchasing and placing some new planters throughout downtown,” said Town Administrator Hyun Kim. “We are also going to be looking at some new benches.”
In addition to the planters and benches, the town will be looking at ways to “spruce up and clean-up its properties,” Kim said.
“We are going to be doing some painting and doing what we can to get things looking really nice,” said Kim.
Spring Clean-Up – The Town of Afton has announced spring clean-up dates to be May 12-14. During that time, town crews will pick up and dispose of yard debris.
Items the town will pick up include rocks, dirt and burnables. Tree and shrub limbs must be four feet in length or less and be piled with other burnables. Rocks and dirt can be piled together, but must be kept separate from burnables.
Household garbage, chemicals, metal, tires, appliances or other such items will not be picked up by the town as part of the clean-up effort. Construction and remodeling waste will also not be picked up by the town.
